Chelsea fans urge club to re-sign Man City target Ryan Bertrand

Chelsea lost another home-grown player on Thursday as midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah decided to join Watford on a five-year deal despite reports that the Blues had offered the 22-year-old a five-year contract offer of their own worth £60,000-a-week, according to the Daily Mail.

It means that the Blues now have just five players that qualify as home-grown in their first team squad – Gary Cahill, Victor Moses, Cesc Fabregas, Andreas Christensen and Charly Musonda – with just one of those five being English.

Meanwhile, The Sun say Manchester City are lining up a £30m bid for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand, who moved to St Mary’s on a permanent deal from the Blues in 2015.

Chelsea supporters were quick to take to social media following the exit of Chalobah, and they want the west London club to make a move to hijack City’s potential £30m offer and re-sign Bertrand this summer in order to boost their home-grown numbers.
